Hotel and Hostel
The hotel has 51 nicely decorated rooms, all with toilet and shower. All rooms are equipped with phone, television and wireless Internet. A major part of the rooms have a sea view.
The entire hotel is nonsmoking.
Sjögården is entirely handicap adjusted with elevators in the conference area as well as in the restaurant area. Ramps in the restaurant and the entrances as well as several handicap toilets are ensuring the same access for guests in wheelchair as for other. The hotel has furthermore four specially designed double rooms with private handicap shower and toilet. Our indoor swimming pool has a ramp and rails for facilitating the swim for a disabled person. Our hotel has recently been tested by the Swedish local handicap organization and we are proud to have passed without any corrections necessary.
The hotel has also several relaxing areas. The cozy living room with its open fireplace has also a terrace with a sea view. In the library you can select a book or a magazine of interest and read on place or in the privacy of the room or enjoy the afternoon tea.
The youth hostel was the original building on the premises. Later the hotel was built in two steps. The Youth hostel was originally the barn and was rebuilt to an oyster cottage in the middle of last century. This oyster cottage attracted a lot of personalities like the earlier mentioned Evert Taube and late prince Bertil. Today the Youth hostel has 15 rooms of different size and is open for tourists all the year.
